Heikki Roots aka Reflexion X was born in south Estonia in a year 1980.
When he was still a kid, he had his dreams and visions of his future.
The very first memories of his childhood, related to music were playing in the sandbox. He was sitting down on the soft sand and collecting all kinds of objects that made any kind of interesting sounding sounds.
Few sticks and he had his first very own setup to play something.
This is what it was around age 4.
Around age 7 he was visiting his father at the weekends. My father had a small accordion which I grabbed and tried it out. Right away I noticed how I can replicate anything that I had heard by my ear.
I was becoming very interested of music. My parents noticed this and soon they got me involved with a boy choir in Tallinn. I also got into my school's choir.
My music teacher owned a synthesizer and I wanted my own and at age of 13 I got one for my birthday. I started to take piano lessons too.
In 1996, when I was 16, I got money from my summer job and I bought my first computer. I also bought myself the AWE64 Soundcard and this is when I started to use PC to write music. There was a sequencer called Orchestra or something like that and later I got Fruity Loops.
In 2002 I bought Propellerhead's Reason which I still use (what a great program).
In 2003 I started to put my music online as deep'n'dark.
In 2008 I switched my artist name to Reflexion X.
The childhood friends may remember me as a kid who's mouth had some beatboxing going on, a kid who had a small recorder with him and who burned CD's of his music and took em to show em off to others. And that he played keyboards whenever he got a chance. ;-)
